I am reminded why being a California resident is so desirable now that the dreary, damp days of winter have been replaced by the pleasant temperatures of spring . The rolling hills are cloaked in vibrant green grass and dotted with poppies. Our wide open beaches are still too chilly for water sport seeking tourists and belong to the locals. In the distance stand our snow capped mountains that reflect the peachy-pink sunsets and velvet blue night skies. It really is beautiful countryside. . We have enjoyed spur-of-the-moment picnics in meadows flanking Ortega Highway and day trips to Big Bear to partake in snowball fights. There have been sun filled and fatiguing days spent peddling our beach cruisers back and forth on the boardwalk between the Huntington, Newport and Balboa Piers, followed by evening marshmallow roasts at the fire pits on the beach. Yes, life is good. We pack an arsenal of paraphernalia for each of these little journeys. No trip is complete without lip balm, snacks, sodas, water bottles, frisbees, a deck of cards, blankets and beach towels. Of all these little necessities, my most favorite is the Ice Mule. My husband picked up Thinking it was something we could use one day, he brought it home. He was right. We rarely leave home without this beverage cooler, our snacks and drinks stay cold for hours and hours.. In fact, I a short time ago discovered that it had been left in the car overnight and was dreading to removing the deviled eggs that surely would emit disgusting fumes upon removal from their Tupperware tomb. To my surprise the eggs and the water bottles inside the soft cooler were still nice and cold, even though they had been in the bag for over 24 hours! Now I take the Ice Mule with me when I do grocery shopping. I transfer the cold items into my cooler bag and carry on with my errands around town before returning home. Quite simply, I love this thing! It won’t be long now till the California shoreline become swarming, noisy meccas for the tourist traffic and the blossoming green hills will turn golden brown. . Traffic on PCH will be reduced to a snail’s pace due to tourists looking for the closest parking spot to the beach (hint, these don’t exist in the summer). When we do feel brave enough battle the crowds, you can bet that our Mule will be with us to keep our drinks, snacks, sunscreen and temperaments cool. On the especially hot 90 degree days, which we always get toward the end of summer, it will be time to sit by the pool with our diet cola, popsicles and iced tea. To reduce effort during the lazy days of summer, I intend to use my Ice Mule poolside, even though the kitchen will only be a few steps away. In fact, once I slip into that lounge chair I might just reside there all summer long.. Written by Windy Reigns, Outdoorswoman Extraordinaire!

The summer is upon you and your wondering how to spend it in the most creative and relaxed way possible. Children are encouraged to spend their time outdoors, so they get some exercise and stay healthy. Adults, too, have feelings of yearning for escape by the time summer rolls around. One fun thing to do for the whole family is to spend the holidays at a residential camp.

A home away from home that will refresh you and get you away from the hustle and bustle of the city is not that hard to find. There are many companies that could be contacted online or otherwise, that allow parents to make the best choice when selecting a residential camp for their children.

Even whole families could enjoy a stint at a residential camp. Many residential camps are available throughout the country with large woodland areas. Some are large as 500 square kilometers at some residential camps. They are filled with rivers and lakes which will mesmerize and serve as the ideal adventure park.

Kids gain a sense of independence and confidence. They also learn to adapt and handle new environments quite well. The result would be a hardened individual coming out into the society. Residential camps offer many options for families as well as youngsters varying from hikes, swimming, canoeing, mountain climbing, outdoor living, learning the ways of the wild as well as many other activities that come with a stint at a residential camp.

Adults and children alike who are constantly under stress living in the city or a busy community would appreciate a residential camp immensely. The exercise and refreshing weather will combine in rejuvenating the body as well as the stressed out mind. A residential camp also gives kids the chance to try out things that they wouldn’t otherwise get to do, such as horese riding, and fishing. It should go without saying that there are ither advantages to letting a group of children from different enviroments spend time with each other and learn to work as a team.

It is natural for parents to worry about their kids and a residential camp would seem a bit dangerous for someone looking at it from the outside. They can rest assured, knowing that their kids are in the safe hands of the camp staff who are qualified and have experience in taking care of children. As long as they choose a residential camp that is known for safety – check word of mouth for this, as well as awards – parents have nothing to fear. Contact  a residential camp this summer, and check it out. You owe it to yourself as well as your kid.

Many people are deciding to take vacations nearer to home this year. For the majority of us it is to help with the family budget but is this a wise choice or a terrible mistake? Often the majority of us overlook the large number of local attractions and yet they are commonly top class and much better than those we see somewhere else. Folk resident in the UK have an enormous choice of places in which to take a vacation all of which have a gigantic selection of top class visitor attractions to visit. In this article I discuss the English city of York and York hotels.

The city of York is situated in Yorkshire, north England and was, a long time ago, the capital of a huge kingdom covering most of northern England. With such an old city you will not be surprised to find a massive collection of incredibly historic architecture, however you may not expect the astounding sight of the Gothic medieval York Minster.

The first York Minster was a small construction of wood in which King Edwin of Northumbria was, in the seventh century, baptised. It wasn#t until the 11th century that the earliest substantial construction made of stone appeared on the site. Built by Thomas of Bayeux it was extended by Archbishop Roger who added a north and south transept. After many additions it was declared complete and consecrated in 1472. Inside has the world’s biggest medieval stained glass window. York has many other places to visit including; the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Viking Centre, The Shambles, Barley Hall, York Dungeon and York Castle Museum.

As well as all of the astounding ancient and historic visitor attractions introduced above, York is a superb place in which to go out partying or experience live music, the theatre or opera. It that doesn’t excite you then alternatively you could spend the evening in a pub there are certainly plenty to choose from, including; Slug and Lettuce, The Snickleway Inn, Old Star Inn, The Bluebell Inn and The Royal Oak, and, lastly, the Black Swan. Out of all the pubs the Black Swan is more than likely the finest with an excellent atmosphere and sometimes featuring live music.

Bed And Breakfast Accommodation In York

Like many other cities in the UK you will discover a massive variety of York bed and breakfast accommodation ranging from budget guest houses to luxury hotels. The Middlethorpe Hall hotel is a mere two miles from the city centre but offers superb accommodation with private gardens, sauna, gym and steam room, and it also offers massages. Other superb hotels in York include; Hotel du Vin and Bistro, Marriott on Tadcaster Road, Parsonage Country House Hotel and Bishops at 135 Holgate Road and one of the best guest houses is Crossways Guest House, or if you are looking for something different why not consider Marmadukes Boutique Hotel.

Think of Nottingham and many people bring to mind the legend of Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest and although the legend attracts increasing numbers of folk yearly there is plenty more to the region than you may have thought. Infact Nottingham is home to a reasonable selection of fantastic tourist attractions and it makes it an excellent base for a a weekend city break and the following article discusses the city and a small selection of attractions in, and close to, Nottingham, including some hotels and guest houses offering Nottingham B&B.

Nottingham is Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, England. As well as the legend of Sir Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest, Nottingham is also known for the lace business especially at the time of the Industrial Revolution when it an amazing worldwide reputation.

Nottingham Lace Market

At one time the heart of the worldwide lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. The area  features many superb examples of industrial architecture of the Nineteenth Century. The market wasn’t like a normal market, rather than having salespersons and stalls, the lace market was more a selection of salesrooms and warehouses displaying and selling lace. Following the downturn in the lace industry the area became rundown but, nowadays, the vast majority of the fine warehouses have been restored for alternative use for example photographic studios and the likes. The Lace Market, Nottingham is a popular visitor attraction.

Shire Hall & Galleries of Justice

Nearby the Lace Market you will find the Galleries of Justice in Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian building which features Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. The front of the hall has, if you examine it carefully, a misspelled word Goal instead of Gaol. The Hall has two excellently preserved courtrooms from the Victorian period and old cells, a women’s prison, bath house, a prisoner’s exercise yard and an Edwardian police station.

The City of Nottingham is a perfect place to take a weekend city break. There is lots to see and do around the city and a huge number of visitor attractions which are readily accessible. Nearby places well worth visiting include; Newstead Abbey, Hardwick Hall and Wollaton Hall.

As is common in all England bed and breakfast, Nottingham accommodation is usually of superb quality at a fair rate and many folk choose to stay in Nottingham for part of their break and then elsewhere for the remaining time.

(150 minutes, 1965)

Alice: One of Woody’s “compartment films” with Farrow as the mousy coddled spouse of prosperous Hurt, trying to find herself, and considering the unthinkable an extramarital event. Stagecoach: One of the awesome American films, and a landmark in the aging of the Western, balancing personality research as distinct passengers voyage together on the identical stagecoach and peerless action in a long Indian assault, characterizing Yakima Canutt’s renowned-stunt work. Additionally, this is the film that launched John Wayne to authentic stardom. Mitchell won an Oscar as the intoxicated physician, as did the music score. Script by Dudley Nichos, from Ernest Haycox’s tale “Level to Lordsburg” whose structure is comparable to Man de Maupassant’s Boule de Suif. Cast includes Zhao Wei, Karen Mok, Melody Seung Hun, Michael Wai, Yasuaki Kurata, and Derek Wan. (111 minutes, 2002)
